Golden Fun Shears by Stan Watson

Stan Watson was a talented and generous professional performer and I was lucky enough to be at the Sussex Magic Circle when he was a member. You could always see the difference between his performances and the other guys. His scissors are absolute gold

If you get the original ones signed by Stan Watson himself they will last a lifetime – these photos are of my set which are 42 years old!

Effect: We consider this to be one of the GREATEST comedy props to come out for many years. The magician picks up a handsome pair of golden shears, snip and snapping these in the air and cutting through a piece of paper. Quite obviously the shears are a regular pair, and SHARP.

Asking a lady to assist him, he hands her the shears, requesting her to cut in a similar fashion. TO HER COMPLETE AND UTTER ASTONISHMENT, SHE IS QUITE UNABLE EVEN TO OPEN THE SHEARS, AS THESE ARE NOW LOCKED FAST IN THE CLOSED POSITION. Appearing to be surprised that the spectator is unable to open them, they are again taken by the magician, who, without any false moves of any kind, opens and closes them in the regular manner. This hilarious business is repeated several times to the amusement of the audience and the chagrin of the spectator. Magician says he will make it easy for the spectator, and opens them up for her. IMAGINE THE SPECTATORS SURPRISE WHEN SHE NOW FINDS SHE IS UNABLE TO CLOSE THEM – a great comedy effect.

Supreme GOLDEN FUN SHEARS can be used by YOU to cut paper or rope, but just REFUSE to act for anyone else.
