Magic Cube Sensation by Magic Hands
(c. 1982) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)Although there are 10’s or even 100’s of Rubik Cube’s effect available today they are not a new phenomena and even back in 1982 Magic Hands was blazing a trail with this clever item!
This is very well made. The thick Lucite boxes that hold the (real) Rubik’s Cubes fit perfectly. The unit itself comes with a number of routines: it can be used for transpositions of jumbled cubes for perfect cubes, disappearances and reappearances and other combinations.
Effect: A famous cube. A well-known problem. The six sides of a cube, each of them a different color, are changed to a colorful mosaic by turning 9 squares at a time in one direction or the other in a totally arbitrary fashion. It is an extremely difficult task to turn the cube in such a way that each of the six sides will attain its original uniform color, hours or even days.
Those with clever heads and dexterous hands who achieve it quicker are certainly the exception. This may take days and it can drive you crazy!
You will be able to do in a flash what others achieve with tedious effort. You pick up a cube whose color pattern is mixed will also receive an original Rubik’s Cube!) You may turn the cube some more, for you know that in just a second the colors will be re-arranged in the correct manner. All you need to do is drop it briefly into the “color sorting box”. This is already a little sensation.
But wait: a bigger sensation is yet to come… This same cube with its colors aligned correctly you may now give to an uninitiated spectator, who may turn the cube to his heart’s desire to any color combination he chooses. And you can after being quickly dipped in and out, imagine how gloatingly he will do this. After you take the cube back with your fingertips. You emphasize that you will not twist or distort the cube after the spectator.
And again the “color sorting box” will cause the same sensation after being quickly dipped in and out, the cube that has been twisted and turned by the spectator will have attained the original uniform color on each of its six sides!

Come Back Magic Hands!
Magic Hands made some really great magic and it is a shame that they are no longer with us. This unique item came out in the early 90’s I believe and it really is a great piece. As you would expect from Magic Hands it is made very well. The thick lucite boxes that hold the (real) Rubik’s Cubes fit perfectly. I picked it up from magic auction site where all sorts of treasures can be found!
The unit itself comes with a number of routines: it can be used for transpositions of jumbled cubes for perfect cubes, dissappearance and reappearance and other combinations.
The gimmicks are very well made and if you actually learn how to do a Rubik’s cube you can add an extra kicker to the end.
